UMgundeni kaMatshekana uthi uyisemkhulu uNozishada wayeyinduna ngesikhathi seNgonyama uDingane. Wayehlabana ezimpini ezaziphuma ngesikhathi seNgonyama uDingane futhi imxoshisa kakhulu ngezinkomo ngenxa yokuhlabana kwakhe ezimpini nxa kubhekwene nezitha. Ngakho-ke izinkomo zikaNozishada zaziziningi kakhulu. Umuzi wakhe wawakhiwe ngakuMandaba, intatshana eNkandla phezu koMhlathuze.

Ngenxa yokuthi ngenkathi uMntwana uMpande ewela uThukela uNozishada wayememezile eme osebeni lomfula ethi abantu ngeke bavume ukubuswa ngumsizi, uMpande akazange akukhohlwe lokho ngenkathi esebusa wambambela amagqubu uNozishada. Kwedlula isikhathi iNgonyama uMpande yagcina ibuze uMatshekana kwaNodwengu mayelana nokwashiwo nguNozishada ngokungahambisani ngokubuswa ngumsizi. INgonyama uMpande yathi uMatshekana umnawa kaNozishada akame phambi kwebandla esigodlweni kwalNodwengu. ISilo sathi akaphenduke aphinde abheke ngakuso simbuka. Sahleka sathi: “Ha! Ha! Ho! Ake nibheke umnawa kaNozishada. Ha! Bhekani uMzulu! uMzulu! Ungakwazi ukuqeda indlu enamandla na?” UMatshekana wayeyinsizwa engakaganwa ngaleso sikhathi. UMatshekana waphendula umbuzo weSilo esasiwubhekise ebandla wathi: “Yebo Ngonyama siyindlu enamandla. Kodwa uma namhlanje kuqhamuka isitha esizolimaza iNgonyama, ngiyofa lapho kufa khona iNgonyama. UMatshekana wayeqonde ngalokho ukuthi umnewabo uNozishada wayevikela iNgonyama eyayibusa ngaleso sikhathi, uDingane nokuthi kubalulekile ukuba amabutho kaZulu afe evikela iNgonyama ebusayo. UMatshekana wayekade elwe ngakuMpande eMaqonqo. INgonyama uMpande yayithokozela incazelo kaMatshekana.

Yabuza ibandla ukuthi lalikuzwisisa yini okwakushiwo yindodana kaMaqhoboza? Ibandla lalikuqonda na okwakushiwo nguMatshekana? Wayethini uma likuqonda? Babengeyona yini indlu enamandla [abakwaNzuza]? ISilo sathi sona simuzwa uMatshekana ethi uNozishada wayelwela indlu yakubo eMaqonqo, yakwaZulu, izwe lakubo. ISilo uMpande saqhubeka sabuza ebandla ukuthi lona lalibona ukuthi kwakusadingekile yini ukuthi kube namagqubu ngoNozishada nokubulala kwakhe amabutho ayecheme noMpande eMaqonqo na? INgonyama yathi yona ngokubona kwayo abakwaNzuza babeyindlu enamandla, uMatshekana wayekhuluma iqiniso uma ethi wayengafa lapho iNgonyama ifa khona eyivikela.

Ngemuva kokumiswa kwakhe esigcawini sebandla nokuchaza kwakhe ngesenzo sikallozishada, iNgonyama uMpande yamnikeza iklwa. Kuthe nxa kubheduka iMpi YaseNdondakusuka, uMatshekana walwa ngasohlangothini lukaMbuyazwe olwehlulwa. Naye wasala kuleyo mpi kwazise iSilo uMpande sasifuna kube nguMbuyazwe ophatha izwe. Ngakho-ke uMatshekana walwa ngasohlangothini lweSilo uMpande.

UNozishada wayemdala kunoMatshekana ezinganeni zikaMaqhoboza. Wayelanywa yintombazane uNomaphela yona yelanywe nguMatshekana. UNozishada ibutho lakhe kwakuwuDlambedlu elikaMatshekana kuwuMdlenevu. EMabuthweni eNgonyama uDingane uDlambedlu neMihaye kwakungamabutho ayaziwa ngophalane. Amabutho anjalo ayelingana ngamandla awo enezinsizwa ezazingakaganwa. Ngakho-ke kwakuthi nxa kuxoxwa impi ngesikhathi seNgonyama uDingane amabutho awuphalane: uDlambedlu neMihaye aklolodelane ngokuthi ngubani uyohlabana kuqala phakathi kwawo uma impi itholana phezulu nesitha. Ngesikhathi sokubusa kweSilo uCetshwayo amabutho ayewuphalane yiNgobamakhosi noKhandempemvu. Yiwona mabutho aklolodelana ukuthi ayeyohlabana kanjani eSandlwana mhla i-England ihlasela zingama-22 kuMasingana we-1879.

Ngenkathi amaNgisi ehlasela uMbuso wakwaZulu enyakatho yoThukela noMzinyathi ngaphansi kweNgonyama uCetshwayo mhla zingama-22 kuMasingana we-1879, uMajiya kaShadu Nzuza wabhekana nabahlaseli eMpini YaseNyezane/Wombane eduze kwentatshana ebizwa ngaye: iNtaba kaMajiya. Impi eyayiholwa nguMajiya eNyezane yalwa ngobuqhawe obesabekayo ibhekene nezibhamu zamaNgisi.

Ngenkathi kubheduka impi yaseNdondakusuka ibutho elalaziwa ngokuthi iNjiki kaMshazi lalwa ngasohlangothini lukaMntwana uMbuyazwe kodwa lagcina lehluliwe uSuthu okwakungamabutho kaMntwana uCetshwayo. Ngakho-ke abantu bakwaNzuza babehlukene phakathi ngeMpi yaseNdondakusuka mhla zi-2 kuZibandlela we-1856. Abanye balwa ngeseZigqozeni zikaMntwana uMbuyazwe abantu balwa ngasoSuthu lukaMntwana uCetshwayo. Abantu bakwaNzuza baqhubeka nokubamba iqhaza embusweni wakwaZulu nangesikhathi sokubusa kweSilo uDinuzulu.

Siyazi ukuthi ingxenye yabakwaNzuza evela esendeni likaBacela kaMyeza yayakhe imizi lapho sekulidolobha khona lakwallongoma namuhla: oFeni, eNgqubatha, eNgabayeni, eZandeleni, kwaSabela nakwaNganezicimba. Yayikade ifike lapho ngemuva kokunqotshwa kukaZwide inabakwaMzimela nabakwaXulu. Yayixhumene kakhulu neNdlunkulu kaZulu kwazise isigodlo sakwaGqikazi seNgonyama uMpande sasakhiwe ngaphansi kokuqashwa yiso labo. Kuthe uma iNgonyama uDinuzulu, abaNtwana oNdabuko noShingana bedingiselwa eSt.Helena ngowe 1888, uThinsila Nzuza kwaba nguye nabanye owajutshwa nguMntwana Undabuko ukuba aqaphe umuzi wakhe wakwaMinya.
